Welcome to the new look of the Techie She blog. Aside from the new avatar (what a beautiful lady!), Techie She is now rocking the latest theme from StudioPress, the Sixteen-Nine Theme!
The Sixteen-Nine Theme is one of the child themes of the Genesis Framework. Among the features of this theme are mobile responsiveness, custom background, custom header, custom menus, two layout options, fixed-width, landing page template and various theme options. Using the recently released Genesis 2.0, the Sixteen-Nine child theme incorporates the essential web standards like HTML5 and schema.org for a faster, more secure, more flexible, and more findable WordPress site.

The new color scheme is not as colorful as the previous pink and girly color scheme that I have. This was a deliberate move since I plan on sharing more tips and how-to articles in the future thus, the more professional-looking (I hope) and businesslike colors.
What do you think of the new theme? If you have a WordPress blog, would you like to use one of the themes from StudioPress for your blog too? Would you join if I host a customized theme from StudioPress giveaway?

Oh I wish I am a techie person like you do! Looks very clean and professional!
not really a techie sis but i just get bored with my blog theme easily so i try to tweak my design or change them when i have the time. StudioPress makes it easy for me to change my theme. 🙂
I love your new theme, simple and the color combination is just right. A customized theme from StudioPress giveaway would be great! Please let us know if you decide to run one 🙂
will keep you updated sis. working on some pre-made themes again and might giveaway one soon. 🙂
Nice new theme Sis 🙂 And HOW I REALLY WISH too, that I know how to tweak my theme. But I guess it runs in the blood? or maybe you are really good at technology? hehe because I SUCK AT IT 🙁
thanks sis. anyway, i probably just have a case of undiagnosed ADHD sis because I easily get bored (like with the blog themes that I am using), LOL. since I love tinkering with the codes, I am glad that StudioPress offers a lot of choices when it comes to pre-made themes that require just a little customization on the artistic aspect of designing.
This is a nice theme for a tech blog.
thanks Peachy. 🙂
I like your theme.:) It is very clean and professional looking. If I were to choose a theme for my blog I would choose something similar to this.:)
thanks April. i am really hoping to achieve that “professional look” in line with my plans for this blog; I am glad you see it that way.
it’s always nice to read a clean and organized site. Thanks again for helping me on making my site look pretty and dainty.
cool nicely done! Theme is modern and soothing. Congrats!
thanks Shela. didn’t change a lot of stuff with Sixteen Nine theme. just a little customization to make it a bit different from other sixteen nine theme users. 🙂
The font and text looks clean, I like it! I love Genesis Framework but I still can’t decide what to get in their premade templates.
I also had a hard time choosing which theme to use on my sites because there’s a lot to choose from at StudioPress. I was creating a theme for my new blog using Sixteen Nine theme but after some tweaks, I decided that it’s gonna be for this Techie She site. 🙂
It does have a more professional feel. 😀 And of course I would love to join a giveaway to win a free customized theme, I know all too well how hard it is to find your identity as a blog and a customized theme is one way to be unique. 😀
The theme looks so cool! Could you please tell me how you changed the background color of the left bar?
thanks Hoang. Just tinkered with the css file until I got the look/color that I wanted.
