How to Get More Out of Your Gaming Console

gaming-console

While some people still think video games are a male domain, more and more females now play video games from home. No matter what type of games you play, you probably have a console from XBOX or PlayStation set up in your living room or bedroom right now. Though you can spend hours playing those games and having run playing online, you can get even more out of your game console. Find out some of the fun things you can do with your console.

Save Progress in the Cloud

Did you know that both PlayStation and XBOX consoles now give you the option of saving content and progress in the cloud? All you need is an account that you sign into on your console. When you need to quit playing a game, you can save your progress in the cloud. The best thing about this feature is that you can then log in on a friend’s console and access your game from their device. With cloud storage, you can even save and play games across two or more consoles.

Download Apps

As the cost of cable packages keeps rising, more and more people cut the cord and drop cable in favor of internet alone. With an XBOX One or PS4, you can download dozens of apps that let you watch your favorite films and shows without having a cable package. Sling charges a monthly fee and gives you access to live TV. You can even pick from different plans to watch the stations you like. Hulu is another good choice because it features popular shows, and Netflix has a large library of films and shows as well as original content. You’ll also find that some networks offer free apps too.

Get More Storage

Many new consoles require that you download full games to your device, which take up a lot of hard drive space, but these consoles also work with external hard drives that you can hook up in minutes. The console will access that drive and give you full access to everything on it via your hard drive. With FPC and FFC connectors from IPEX and other companies, you can also connect your TV to your console and access movies and shows saved on that device. With the newest consoles on the market today, you can do much more than just play a few games.
