How to Recover Your Hard Drive

Your computer crashed with all of the important data that you need on it. There are options available to you to retrieve this information and transfer it to a new system. Here are a few steps to recover the hard drive on your device.

Remove the Drive

Your computer refuses to boot up at all. The best option to recover what is on it is to remove it from the rest of the device entirely. You will want to do this in a place that is free of dust and debris. If you intend to do this often or wish to start a business in it, cleanroom certification companies can help you set up a space to work in. You must have the correct tools to do the job before you get started, including a screwdriver. You can purchase a set of these at your local technology store. Once you have it out, find a clean, dry place to keep it. This can be done with any brand and any operating system.

Recover the Data On It

Find a computer that you trust is operational and plug the hard drive into it. You will need the tools that you used before to do this. Once it is attached, turn it on to see if it boots up. If it lags or fails to do so, you may need to send it into a recovery service. Search for the important data that you need by entering the name of it in the search bar of File Explorer. You can also utilize a software program or app that will perform this for you. It will scour the system for what you need then assist you in moving it to a new storage device. Be sure to investigate it so you are sure that it will work with whatever laptop or desktop you intend to purchase in the future.
