Halloween is (almost) here! Have you decorated your house and made it the scariest house on the block?
While scary ghosts and goblins are “in” during this time of the year, your virtual datacenter should be free of anything that will keep you wide-awake and anxious about your datacenter at night and day. In an infographic entitled “Is Your Virtual Datacenter Haunted?” below, Cloud Physics presented the problems haunting our datacenters such as lack of security, bully virtual machines, dead spaces in disk spaces, suspended virtual machines, and the like.
Not all virtual data-centers are the same. Some companies provide lax security that can easily make you and your business a target of hackers and unscrupulous individuals. Security bugs such as SSL Heartbleed and ShellShock can affect unpatched virtual machines. Use of unsupported software also provides security risks.
Another problem that your organization may encounter with “haunted data-centers” is application downtimes due to virtual infrastructure problems, incompatibilities between components, software bugs, contention of storage resources and more. Downtime results to less productivity and operational problems.
Although these problems and risk are present, there are experts who can analyze your system and give data-driven insights that can help you quickly and easily find operational hazards in your virtual data-center.
