Have you heard about the Electronic Frontier Foundation? They are providing some legal guide for US bloggers. If you’ve heard stories about bloggers who usually get in trouble for what they post, you’ll get it when I say that this is a must-read for all bloggers.
Journalists, publishers and bloggers provide information through different media but unlike the first two mentioned, the latter does not have the benefit of the training or resources to help them determine the legality of what they do. Reading the guide and articles on the site is not like a malpractice insurance of some sort but they may help a blogger avoid legal troubles like defamation, copyright infringement and other stuff.
Again, EFT’s expertise and resources only cover US-based bloggers – but if you’re non-US, you might find information that are still knowing through this foundation’s website.
