Printing Digital Photos

printing-digital-photoRemember those times when we use films with our cameras to take pictures? Those rolls of films were not only expensive – they’re also prone to waste because once you don’t like a shot that you made, you can’t just delete it like what we do now with digital cameras. In addition, those films need to be processed in photo-printing centers (unless you can afford to set-up your own darkroom).

These days, it’s easier to share your pictures (and even videos) because they are in digital format. In addition, you can print your own photos too as long as you have a printer and some photo paper.

Experts suggests that you should use inkjet printers for printing digital photos. Inkjet printers can print finer and smoother details compared to laser and dot matrix printers. To produce high-quality printed photos, you should use also inkjet photo paper because they are specifically designed for photographs reproduction.

Photo papers can either have glossy, semi-matte (or silk) or matte finishes. Glossy photo papers are best used if you want to frame those photos or place them on albums because they produce photos with brilliant colors and rich skin tones. If you’re printing for banners, banners or trade show materials, silk finishes are better because they of the reduced glare but use matte finish for high quality graphic arts applications, enlargements, reprints, and unframed photos because they have sharper images and vibrant colors.

I have a small portable inkjet printer I use especially for printing photos. I also order photo books for our photos. Taking photos will be useless unless I can have them printed out. If you have your digital frame to display them, it’s another option. I can also share the digital photos online but having prints is not the same.
