Yes, Techie She made the switch from Sixteen Nine to Magazine Pro! These two premium themes are from Studiopress and offer the following features:
- mobile responsive
- custom header
- custom menus
- HTML5 markup
Why the Switch?
Last month, Google gave my site a manual action and stripped Techie She of its Page Rank 3 (thanks goodness, it’s back now!). While preparing to submit my site for reconsideration, I had time to review my posts and to ponder where I want this site to go, moving forward.
I definitely did not have problems with Sixteen Nine Theme. In fact, I noticed a considerable change in traffic from Google after using the theme. While it is a great theme, I feel that Sixteen Nine theme’s stunning but minimalistic design is not suitable for the plan that I had conceptualize for this site.
Enter the Magazine Pro
Widgetized home page, magazine layout, and six layout options I can use on my site, the Magazine Pro theme fits the bill perfectly for my new concept for Techie She. This WordPress theme allowed me to present not only my latest blog posts on the home page; it also allowed some room for me to feature the various post categories using widgets. Check out my home page now to see the newly organized categories: blogging stuff, blog themes and designs, freebies and deals, tips and tutorials, contests and giveaways, and techie matters at the home page.
Future Plans
I will be sharing more freebies, such as background images and printables, in the future. If you had noticed, I also created a major category, “blog themes and designs,” because I will be creating more premade themes in the future. For those who had been waiting to read more tutorials, do not worry because they will be available here at Techie She soon.
