Texting is quite a common task nowadays. If you ask the children of today’s generation, they probably cannot imagine how it was like during the days when cellular phones were not yet invented.

From just a means of communication and socialization, text messaging now encompasses many areas of our lives. It has been used to vote in various online and television contests, for business promotions, tracking locations and even patient compliance.

Yes, you read it right: patient compliance. Nowadays, a simple text message can remind patients to follow up on treatment, finish a dose of medicine, and deliver crucial health information that may dramatically influence the recovery process. Companies, like TeleVox, offer services to improve patient compliance like patient reactivation, appointment reminders, preventive or wellness reminders and recall reminders. Now, it is easier to ensure that patients follow treatment plans that their doctors gave exactly as prescribed.

Since text messaging is now popular, these kinds of patient compliance services are offered by many companies. However, if you are interested, you can learn more about TeleVox here.

Anyway, aside from the uses of text messaging that I mentioned above, can you name other uses of cell phones too? I would love to hear about your thoughts in the comments section below.

thanks for mentioning that Katherine. i guess that will help decrease wait times in restaurants since the chefs could prepare the orders even before the customers arrive.
