Why Should You Have a Mobile Friendly Website?

mobileMore people are using their smart phones, tablets and other mobile gadgets to access the internet and open apps nowadays. In fact, Google says that smartphone users are the fastest growing segment of internet users. If you would like to give your website visitors (a.k.a. customers) an optimal viewing experience, you should consider having a responsive design on your website to cater to the various ways that your customers visit your website. When you use the responsive web design approach, your website detects your visitor’s screen orientation and size and provides flexible layouts and images for easy reading and navigation.

If you do not have a mobile friendly website, you risk losing your customers who are using their smartphones and mobile gadgets to access your site. It is true that not everyone are ditching their laptops and computers but for an increasing number of internet users, their smartphones are the most convenient and fastest way to go online.

Mobile users want a site that is fast loading, easy to navigate and is streamlined to show only the necessary web elements that they can access on their usually smaller screens.

If you are not sure how your site looks like on mobile, many sites (such as responsivetest.net and responsinator) offer mobile testing tools. Some sites, like keynote, ensure the quality of your websites and mobile applications on real devices and carrier networks through a streamlined testing process.

Mobile is the way to go nowadays. Is your site mobile friendly?

This is a great post. I agree. I use my phone to surf the Internet a majority of the time. I hate going to sites that take forever to load.
