Yahoo Releases the New Yahoo Mail

Have you seen the new Yahoo Mail?

Amidst the current tug of war between Google and Facebook for the top site in the net, the once top site of the internet, Yahoo, released its newest version of the Yahoo Mail. Have you seen it? Yahoo claims that it’s the best Yahoo Mail ever: faster, safer and easier.

New YAhoo Mail Features

Aside from a better interface, the new Yahoo Mail has the following features:

  • Keyboard Shortcuts

    • new keyboard shortcuts were built to save time in doing general commands, composing mails, keyboard navigation and working with messages,IM conversations and message lists

  • Themes

    • the new Yahoo mail features complete selection of themes that allow you to customize your mail experience.

  • Updates

    • with its recent partnership with Zynga games, Yahoo implemented some changes in its main Yahoo Mail page to provide easy notification and access to any updates that come through Zynga games

  • Preview Pane

    • the preview window no longer displays by default although you can easily change this setting in your inbox or from the “options” menu

  • Archiving for IM conversations

    • all IM conversations with Yahoo! Messenger contacts (except IM conversations with Facebook friends) are now archived although this feature can be disabled if you want to.

I agree that the current user interface is a bit less cluttered than the previous one but the green header that greeted me when I accessed my Yahoo mail account reminded me of the previous color of the Friendster interface.

  1. I like the new yahoo mail She lalo na ung idea na archiving conversations for we can look and read back past conversations with friends..and we can chat through there din. di na ako ng oopen ng YM eh, sa email nalang

    • me, i still use YM because of the video chat function as well as the conference mode and not much of yahoo mail because i had my mails set-up sa ms outlook.

  3. I feel manipulated by yahoo! And why, bcoz i tried the new version and only then realized i couldn’t change back to the older versions. It seems they want all yahoo users to migrate to the new version which……. how bad.. i dont like the new v’s interface at all, its toooo slow! I will blog about this soon… 🙂

  4. i dont like their new version sis, it sucks. Lots of times hindi ako makapag check ng emails ko kasi maintenance daw waaaa. i like the old version
