Google Updates Page Rankings

Have you checked your site’s Google page rank lately? The big G recently updated the page rankings of different websites and there has been a mixed feedback from web masters worldwide. Though most webmasters noticed an increased in PR rankings (like Georyl going from PR1 to PR2 and Chika Bits going from PR0 to PR3), other sites got some “demotion” on their PR (like Bloggista Info Corner from PR3 to PR 2).

Although the PR update sounds like an easy metric to focus on, Google advises to worry less about PageRank because it is just one of the over 200 signals that can affect the manner of how your site is being crawled, indexed and ranked. Web masters are encourages to check out Analytics, think about conversion rates, ROI (return on investment), relevancy, or other metrics that actually correlate to meaningful gains for your website or business.

If your site is not indexed yet, it might be due to the fact that it’s still relatively new (like Techie She which is less that two months old) so just be patient.

I am making a post of it right now and as I was making a link here for the giveaway that I won few weeks back, I saw this post and decided to drop a few lines. You knew that my “Be a Lifesaver Of Goodness” blog just recently migrated and it is still almost 2 weeks old but I am already happy that it is already “O”. It is not that big or is negligible but at least it is no longer N/A, much more that it is relatively new.

I’ve seen a lot of happy posts about PR ranks from different bloggers as I was adgitizing but when I saw your question, “Have you checked your site’s Google page rank lately?”, I got curious and checked mine. Luckily, I’m PR 0 now! πŸ˜€ Yey! It was relieving that I dropped here at your page. Thank you! Though you unconsciously know it. πŸ™‚ hehe…

The PR assigned to mine was not bad for a newbie blog, but honestly I’m indifferent to the numbers. I’m not exactly good at math (lol). πŸ™‚
